Day 1: Rome
Arrival in Rome and transfer to the hotel in Rome. Guided visit to the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, to venerate
the tomb of St. Paul, the “Apostle of the Gentiles”. The visit proceeds to the Catacombs of St Callisto, built between 250
and 300 A.D., holding the graves of 500,000 Christians, including dozens of martyrs and 16 popes. The subterranean
area consists of several areas, the most important: the Papal Crypt, “the Little Vatican”, preserving the remains of at least
five martyred and beatified Popes; the Crypt of Santa Cecilia, who was buried where today we can see the astounding
sculptural masterpiece of Stefano Maderno. At the end of the visit, come back to the hotel, dinner and overnight.



Day 2: Rome
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Vatican City. Guided visit of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter
Basilica. The tour starts from Vatican Museums with the Pinecone Courtyard, the collection of the Greek and Roman
sculpture, the Galleries of Tapestries and the frescoed Maps of all Italy, the rooms painted by Raphael and his pupils,
ending with the amazing Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. Afterward the tour will lead you inside the highest temple of
Christendom: St. Peter’s Basilica. The Pietà by Michelangelo, the Jubilee Gate, Bernini’s main altar, the staircase
enlightened by eternal lamps leading to the tomb of Saint Peter designed by Carlo Maderno, the tombs of the Popes
made by Bernini, Della Porta, Canova. Lunch in a typical restaurant. After lunch the visit proceeds to Basilica Santa
Maria Maggiore, the most important and best preserved of Roman churches dedicated to the Madonna, and to Basilica of
St. John Lateran, the “Mother of all churches in the world”, the perfect connection between the pagan and Christian eras.
The tour proceed to the city centre , to admire the famous squares and baroque building and fountain: Spagna Square,
Navona Square, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. Dinner in hotel and Overnight.



Day 3: Rome – Orvieto – Santa Maria degli Angeli – Assisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Assisi, town in Umbria region, well-know all over the world as pilgrimage destination
with Saint Francesco’s life places. On the way, stop to Orvieto to visit the Cathedral with the Chapel of Corporal Holy
where is conserved the holy lined of the miracle of Bolsena, exposed on the altar in a fabulous tabernacle. Lunch in
restaurant. Departure to Santa Maria Degli Angeli to visit the Basilica included the “Porziuncola” where St. Francis
founded his order. At the end of the visit, departure to Assisi, accommodation in hotel and dinner.



Day 4: Assisi
Breakfast at the hotel. Guided visit of Assisi, pilgrimage destination and place rich in artistic works. Walking tour of the
medieval town from Saint Chiara Basilica, Minerva temple, San Rufino Cathedral to the Basilica of San Francesco
d’Assisi (St. Francis), World Heritage Site. The lower church has frescos by renowned late-medieval artists Cimabue and
Giotto; in the upper church are frescos of scenes in the life of St. Francis previously ascribed to Giotto and now thought
to be by artists of the circle of Pietro Cavallini of Rome. Lunch in hotel. In the afternoon departure to the Hermitage of the
Carceri, located about five kilometres from Assisi, on the slopes of Mount Subasio. The Sanctuary has evolved
throughout the centuries around the cave of St. Francis and the little Chapel of St. Mary, where St. Francis spent periods
of time in contemplation and intense prayer. Departure to Assisi, dinner and overnight at hotel. Possibility to visit and
dinner in Perugia.



Day 5: Assisi – Cascia – Rome
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Cascia, a little town but important pilgrims place all over the world for 2 great claims:
Saint Rita of Cascia, one of Catholicism’s most revered saints, knew as the “Saint of the Impossible” and because of
Cascia was the place where a Eucharistic Miracle is presser ved. At the end of the visit of the Basilica where the Saint
relics is preserved, departure to taste a typical regional lunch nearby Norcia. Departure to Rome. Arrivederci!
